Nutty Rice

1 cook rice until it reaches desired
texture, rinse in cold water, and set aside.
2 while rice is cooking, dice vegetables.
3 place slivered almonds under a broiler for 1 to 2 minutes,
keeping a close eye on them so that they do not burn. Remove nuts when they are
lightly browned.
4 in a small bowl or cup, mix oil, vinegar, and soy sauce.
Add chives and spices, adjusting the salt and pepper to taste. The recipe can take a
generous portion of pepper.
5 toss all ingredients together and serve at room temperature.
